The Aeronautical Information Service provides services that include flight planning as well as a source of information such as the availability of routes, navigational aids, Air Traffic Services etc both in Malta and abroad. It also retains a library of Aeronautical Information Publications from selected countries.
When a flight is to be operated the operator or his representative will consult the documents available (if they don’t have copies themselves) and will then send the required information in a flight plan form to the AIS. This flight plan will be checked for errors and then forwarded abroad to other units concerned. |
